Popmusik gegen Krebs e.V ***:
(Rock- and Popmusic against Cancer):
It's
been several years ago that Olaf Ertel, one of
Germany's biggest Sweet (Glamrock) Fans and
collectors, got diagnosed with cancer. In that time the idea raised to try to
do something good for the Cancer Fund. Olaf's wish
was to produce a Charity CD and I was one of them
who promissed to help
him with that. I am very proud that I was able to.
We approached artists to see how they
felt about that idea and the response was great. The
first musician who donated one of his songs, was
Danny Hynes from Paddy Goes To Holyhead.
Olaf raised the Fund *Internationaler Verein Rock- und
Popmusik gegen Krebs e.V* (the international Society
Rock- and Pop Music against Cancer).
The artists who
donated a song, are amonst others Alan Merrill&Arrows,
Chip Hawkes, Vintage, T-Rex, Lieutenant Pigeon,
Steve Whalley, Stevie Priest from Sweet, Frank
Torpey, Gary
Moberley,
Paddy Goes To Holyhead.
The CD is called *Colours Of
Life* and is numbered by hand. There's
a limited edition
of 1000. It's a mix of different styles, Rock, Pop,
Blues.
